First, import the included AI file. Now that you have the Illustrator file in After Effects we want to view each individual layer and edit each shape. To do that, drag the file into the timeline then right click on the layer.

Go to > Create > Convert to layered comp.

Now a new composition has been created with the inside layers. Double click on the layer to open it. You can play around with the position, rotation, and scale properties. Make keyframes by clicking the diamond shaped button on the far left.
